This acoustic duo combines the down home flavor of the Stanley Brothers
along with the sounds of contemporary American acoustic music. Forrest Utley and Ben Pedigo have performed in Northern Kentucky and in the
Cincinnati area for years and make up Gunpowder Creek.
Visitors to Main Strauss in
Covington, Kentucky will remember Forrest Utley singing and performing
at the Strauss House. Forrest plays guitar, harmonica and has a soulful
voice reminiscent of Carter Stanley. Forrest has an original style of
playing that is enjoyable and engaging for listeners. His harmony
singing brings out the old time flavor of a song and also adds a unique
quality to the music.
Bluegrass enthusiasts will remember
Ben Pedigo as a performer on the Julia Belle Swain excursion boat. Ben
has performed and recorded with Norman Blake, and toured with Bill
Monroe. Ben's mandolin playing and singing are a great compliment to
Forrest's vocals and guitar work. Ben also picks five string banjo.
Gunpowder Creek is great
entertainment for private parties, festivals and outdoor events. Their
acoustic show is sure to please all audiences and their down home style
is a refreshing addition to any event.
